Raising children in English
One of the most important life principles of English can be expressed by the following formula: &&171;We come into this world to enjoy&&187;. It is based on it many distinctive features of their character and lifestyle. It concerns the education of children.
In England children decided to keep in severity, and the higher in society you are, the more rigor. Often we see, as in a rich English house nursery is located almost in the attic and is a squalid little room, and this is done quite deliberately in order not undead, and temper of the child.
There is an old English truth - &&171;children should be seen but not heard&&187;. In English pubs on the door you will often see the plate &&171;Children and dogs allowed&&187;. If dogs are the exception, perhaps, about to do for children - no.
A typical question addressed to the child in England: &&171;Well, and what you want to become when you grow up, young man?&&187; - suggests that childhood is the only time we have to experience in order to be normal, that is, an adult person.
Incidentally, this attitude extends to such an important part of life, like food. In an internationally popular French cartoon about Asterix the Gaul is the episode in which he and his greedy friend Obelix come to England, where the characters painfully normally try to eat. But even the glutton Obelix can not cope with English dishes, richly flavored with mint sauce.
The main feature of British food is that it is aimed at the satisfaction of hunger, and not for pleasure. Food should be what it is given by God, the earth, Nature and all the luxuries and delights - from the evil one (read French). In essence, the type it is close traditional Russian food - cooked vegetables, steamed or fried meat pies.
The cartoon in one English magazine shows two chefs, one of which lists potato dishes: &&171;Potatoes boiled, fried, baked, stewed&&187;, and the latter exclaims: &&171;And they say English food is monotonous!&&187;
