Import of meat products from the UK allowed

18 September 2014. The importation of meat products manufactured in the UK, Russia again allowed.

Ban on the import of meat products from the UK was introduced back in 1986, when the country was observed outbreak of mad cow disease. Just last year the ban was suspended: British meat producers provided the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control data on the slaughter and inspection of carcasses of sheep and cattle, and gave assurances that comply with existing within the Customs Union norms.

Now Russian ban on meat imports from Belarus, where there is outbreak of African swine fever. Also today, in our country there is a ban on the supply of pork, turkey, beef and offal from the United States, as they had found growth stimulator - ractopamine.
