Apple jam with walnuts
450 g sour-sweet apples
100 g peeled walnuts
85 g sugar
50 ml water
1 lemon
1 bay leaves
1 tablespoons cognac / brandy
Apples to prepare: wash, cut each into 8 pieces, cut out the seeds.
With the help of a grater to remove the zest from the lemon, squeeze the juice from the pulp.
Water bring to a boil in a saucepan, put the apples, sprinkle them with sugar, lemon peel, pour the lemon juice, put a bay leaf, a good mix things up, put on medium heat for 10 minutes, cover the pan with a lid.
Remove the lid, increase the fire to extinguish still 5 minutes, then remove the bay leaf, add the cognac or brandy, add nuts, cook for 25 minutes over low heat.
Remove pan from heat and jam, apple jam to put up with walnuts into sterilized jars and lids with sterile cork, let cool at room temperature, then store in the refrigerator jam.
