Barley porridge with dried fruit
200 g pearl barley
200 g dried fruit
700 g water
1 orange
1 tbsp. lemon juice
? tsp. ground cinnamon
orange zest or lemon
sugar
salt
Soak the barley in cold water, then rinse first with warm, then hot water.
Pour the grits into the water, add sugar, salt and dried fruit, simmer until thick, stirring constantly.
For a few minutes before end of cooking add the cinnamon, zest and lemon juice.
Before serving, decorate porridge with orange slices.
